Listening to the words of casting crowns towards stepping out of the comfort zone into the realm of the unknown, one would think this comfort zone is like a room kind where people relax after a hard day’s work.
Thinking about comfort is a factor that most of us strife to get every day. We think of that absolute education, that expensive car, that awesome job, that food that is expensive, that beautiful girlfriend, that handsome boyfriend, that treat you are dying to get, that awesomeness of various degrees.
As it is if you think about it we live everyday for the accomplishment of love and relation among ourselves. Every day we are looking for comfort zones where we want to crawl and hide away from all the hustle, away from the things we perceive to work against our benefits. Pause.........
all this is geared and revolving around us right? A comfort zone is defined to be a situation or a place or thing that keeps us warm and going and bubbly. But is it really the purpose of life? Is it that those who cannot be able to find comfort zones are less of people? Is it that if we stepped out of our comfort zones for a second we would vanish?
Think about it? What is your comfort zone?
your house that you keep buying comfortable stuff so you can fit in it....remember it may one day be bulldozed....
your girlfriend or boyfriend whom you think is the best thing that happened.......maybe you strife too hard to make things work yet the lord is giving you all the signs for better....
your job....you think its earning you the best cash...what if tomorrow the company collapsed?
Your education....fine it’s in your brains to stick....but what if today is your last day on earth?
your gift, talent, your looks etc....
comfort zones are things we always protect no matter what....you always have this idea in your head that all must go well.....you run away from reality that it’s not actually comfortable and insist and make yourself believe that it is.......
for instance in cases of love...many will go into a relationship owing to the fact that they want and have a choice to love this person....deep down have you evaluated your thoughts...are you just comfortable coz he or she is handsome or beautiful...... you strive with distance, issues, same view of ideas pressure but you keep telling yourself its comfortable....have you even prayed about it.....or you just want to keep lying to yourself that its comfortable.......
what would happen if you made a radical decision and walked away from the "comfort" both in the thinking and reality....would you vanish? Would you die? Or would you flourish back again? Am not saying you go burn your house or leave your girlfriend or don't go to school...but just what if you looked beyond what you think you have? Most of the time you will find you have been missing a lot on the glories and thinking that there is no more to what you got.....trust you me there is a lot more that you have not experienced in this life that you have barred yourself to? you know the saying that we are our own enemies bears into us daily...when you say u are too tired, when you say just a quick nap, when you say I will survive the distance, when you say I just need to relax.....you are weighing yourself on life...how many times do you say this in a day? Month or even year? Some of us say it daily...others every second... others 365 days...and yet there are others wishing for just one second to live and make the difference!!
The truth is every time we surround ourselves in comfort quarters we don't see far beyond them...the moment you decide to step out creates a whole new level of glory and satisfaction....
evaluate yourself today...are you just comfortable conditionally? Have you just surrounded yourself with material items to comfort you...remember these are vanity of vanities.....
Ask yourself what if you stepped out of comfort? Don’t be afraid coz you have not even tried it.....
Remember 2 Corinthians 3:18
But we all [Christians], with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being changed [transformed] into the same image [the image of God] from glory to glory [from that of man to God] just as by [the means of] the Spirit of the Lord.
We do not form the glory but He alone gives it to us according to His riches.....
So make a choice today coz He is just waiting for that step....it doesn't matter what it is just arise!!!
